Ever After Always (Bergman Brothers #3)

by Chloe Liese finished March 24th

I read this book in one day. In one single day I finished this book because I love the way this author writes. She deals with all sorts of mental health issues throughout her books and this one focuses on anxiety. Anxiety has become constant in my life, enhanced by the pandemic and my career.

Chloe Liese creates a playlist for her books and each chapter has a song that matches. There is something so comforting about slipping my headphones on and hearing a song that was perfectly picked to match the chapter.

The story follows two characters that the reader should have met in the first book in the series, Aiden and Freya. The other characters return in minor roles but it is cool to see Willa and Ryder, and Frankie and Ren again.

I especially liked how this book involved a married couple and the troubles that they experienced even after the "happily ever after." I have only been married for just under two years but I have discovered that marriage is hard and requires more work than relationships because the stakes are higher. It is nice to have that acknowledged in a romance novel and makes me want to continue to work hard.

This novel also set up the next one so that Axle and Rooney can fall in love but fleshed out the character of Oliver better which is exciting because he gets his own romance in the 5th book released in May. However, all I really want is to read Viggo's story because Viggo reads romance novels and I think that is going to make for a fantastic story with these characters.

I recommend checking out this whole series but make sure that you have some time carved out to sit, read, and listen to the playlist because that makes the experience.
