Go Tell the Bees that I am Gone
by Diana Gabaldon finished January 8th
This is the 9th book in the Outlander series. Please do not attempt this book unless you have read the other 8 books. Gabaldon is a talented writer but I have found that this series tires me.
This book is 902 pages. Together all the books in this series add up to 8,565 pages. This is only counting the regular ones in the series, not some of the shorter ones that link in as well. The average page count for a book in this series is 951 pages. While it is great to have such a fleshed out story, it makes it impossible reread the previous ones when a new one comes or is coming out. I prefer to reread a series before reading the newest book especially when there is a gap of more than five years between books.
I enjoyed this book because I am invested in the characters. My husband bought me this book for Christmas and my father bought this book for my mother as well, which was fun as we all celebrated Christmas together.
There were a lot of things I was confused about because of the gap between reading the books but by the end I was able to understand what was happening.
I love the setting in the mountains of North Carolina, near where I grew up.
I only recommend this book to those who have read the previous books, preferably recently.
