I wanted to love this children's graphic novel. It is about two best friends, Dog & Hat. They go on a hilarious journey when Dog's Polka Dots go missing from his favorite shirt.

However, the sensory overload on the cover continues throughout the book. I do not know many children who would be able to make sense of this because there is just too darn much happening on the page and it is all in bright and appealing covers, making it hard to follow the dialogue.

I hope that Darin Shuler continues this as a series but perhaps takes a less is more approach allowing his adorable story to shine through!
