Forrest for the Trees

I chose this book because it takes place in the same small town as the Penny Reid books where all the names are puns with beards. I had loved those as they were fun, light, easy reads that turned my brain off. One of my favorite things about reading is how reading is a way to escape my feelings on anxiety.

It has been a while since I read this, as I am writing these posts in April but I do remember some things about this book. I loved the main character, she was a badass park ranger and had an adorable sounding giant dog. The romance aspect was cute and she was super helpful to others throughout the book. The small town in Tennessee and Smokey Mountain National Park were practically characters on their own.

It was a bit formulaic, almost borrowing from a Nora Robert's style formula, but I still enjoyed it. I will probably read more Green Valley romances but they won't be top of my list.
