The Witch's Heart
by Genevieve Gornichec finished April 19, 2022
I am not particularily informed about Norse mythology. That is rather a shame as the only heritage I can confidently claim in Norweigan, my great-grandfather immigrated from Norway as a young man and my grandmother and great-aunt still eat Ludafisk at holidays. This story is about a witch who marries the trickster Loki. Most of my knowledge of Loki comes from the Marvel universe which is not at all like this story.
Anyway, our witch marries Loki after he returns her heart because she was burned by Odin, three times no less. They have three children together and those children are fated to help bring about Ragnorak.
There were no chapters in this book just two sections, making it harder to read. It might have worked better in just two sittings but, alas, a full time job gets in the way.
This made me think and was worth the read but imparted a bleak mood.
